How to Schedule Text Messages on iPhone

Complete guide to schedule SMS, WhatsApp, and Email messages with TextLater

1

Download TextLater

Get TextLater from the App Store for a one-time purchase of €4.99. No subscription required. Works on iOS 16.1 and later.

Tip: TextLater is a one-time purchase — you pay once and own it forever, including all future updates.
2

Choose Message Type

Open TextLater and select your message type: SMS, Email, or WhatsApp. Each type integrates with your native iOS apps.

Why TextLater? iOS 18's native "Send Later" only works with iMessage and has a 14-day limit. TextLater works with SMS to Android, WhatsApp, and has no time limit.
3

Write Your Message

Enter the recipient (from contacts or manually), compose your message, and optionally add an image. You can also use predefined templates for common occasions like birthdays.

4

Set Date and Time

Choose exactly when you want to be reminded to send your message. Options include:

  • Specific date and time
  • Daily recurring
  • Weekly recurring
  • Monthly recurring
  • Yearly recurring (perfect for birthdays!)
5

Save and Wait

Save your scheduled message. At the scheduled time, you'll receive an iOS notification with your message ready to send. Just tap the notification to open your messaging app with everything pre-filled.

Note: Due to iOS security, apps cannot send messages automatically. TextLater sends you a notification with the message ready — you just tap send!
